She was predeceased by: her sister Beverley; and her parents, Aylwin McCaffrey and Christabel McCaffrey (Evans). She is survived by: her husband Ron Townley; her son Nigel Townley (Megan); her siblings, Arlene Gillan (Frank) of Pakenham and Jim McCaffrey (Gwen) of Woodlawn; her siblings' children, Sylvia Stanton, Lainey Rusaw, Kelsey McFarlane, Bobby Gillan and Tyler McCaffrey; and her siblings-in-law, Jacqueline Bertrand (late Edward), Joan Neill (late Milton), Donna Charbonneau (late Oscar), William Townley (Carolyn), Joseph Townley (Helen), John Townley (Judy), Rosemary Popkie (late Howard) and Bruce Townley.
In memory of Karen and her extraordinary dedication to the Arnprior Hospital and the community, donations may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation or to the Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program.
