He was predeceased by : his wife Clare; his parents, Isidore Poirier and Emela Poirier; and his siblings, Paul-Henri (Marilyn), Jacqueline Adamo (late Joseph) and Carmelle Fillion (Adrian).

He is survived by : his sons, Dan (Shelley) of Ottawa, Michel of Ottawa and Marc (Julie) of Wolfville; his grandchildren, Paul, McKaila, David and Erin; and his sister Lina McEachern (Donald) of Lindsay, ON..
