As Ruth departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Ruth leaves behind.
She is survived by: her husband Casey Jones; her brother David Major (Diane); and her children, David Jones (Carol), Bruce, Grace (John Soloman), Barb Vivian, Thomas McVeigh and Ilana Desousa (Ian). She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth will be remembered for her creativity, curiosity, and her lasting contribution to Canada's cultural life. In memory of Ruth, a donation to the Mariposa Folk Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
