She was predeceased by : her husband Robert Smith; her siblings, Barb Batoff (late Bob), Jean Abbass (late Ron), Joan Carter (late Jim), Ron Brown (late Sandra) and Allan Brown; and her parents, Alexander Brown and Maude Brown.
She is survived by : her children, Karen Patterson (Robert), Connie Crowder (Greg) and Bobbi-Jo Smith; her grandchildren, Alicia (Stephen), Forrest (Candice), Jenni, Chris, Kristyn (Chad), Derek (Ashley), Natalie and Lexi; her great grandchildren, Joseph, Grace-Lynne, Victoria, Dakota, Ever, Abi, Sadie, William, Boyd and Alexis; and her brother Gary Brown (Brenda). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A donation may be made in memory of Velma to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
