He was predeceased by: his son Jamie; his parents, Elmer Townsend and Dorothy Townsend; his nephews, Gary and Wayne Haves; Frank and Dinah Sills.
He is survived by: his significant other Mary Townsend (Sills); his children, Ray (Tammie), Michael (Derek), Daphne Haramule (John) and Daniel (Holly); his grandchildren, Jade, Taylen, Johnny, Joseph, Dominik, Ryan, Noah, Marla, Quinn and Claire; his siblings, Elizabeth, Alex Townsend (Eileen), Erma, Watson and George Townsend (Ruth); Anne Mason (John), Jane Muegge (Len), Margaret Beard (Phil) and Joan Johnston (Neil).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Arthur Community Centre (158 Domville St, Arthur, ON N0G1A0). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church (150 Georgina St, Arthur, ON N0G1A0).
There will be a reception at the Parish Centre following the Funeral Mass. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Arthur Optimist Club, St. John Catholic Cemetery or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
