He was predeceased by: his parents, John Aitken and Florence Aitken; his brother Wilfred Hartman; and his son Scott (Krista). He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his sibling Jean Hartman; his children, Gwen Snowe (late Jeff Snowe) and Greg (Brighite); and his grandchildren, Justin (Brie), Riley, Alyssa, Lauren, Sam and Wade. He is also survived by his family, friends.

As expressions of sympathy donations to the Herat and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
