He was predeceased by: his siblings, Bob, Gilbert and Anne Quinn; and his parents, Edgar Allen Lutes and Yvonne Marie of Guire.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his sons, Ralph, Gilbert and Ted; his brothers, Allen and Richard Lutes (Suzanne); his brother-in-law Leonard Bond (Georgette); and his nephews, Normand Bond (Penny) and Kevin Bond.
