She was predeceased by: her spouse Clare Blancher; her daughters, Susan Blancher, Pam Reynolds (Cecil) and Ginny Merriman (Bob); her siblings, Lyons Covey (Stella), Marco Covey (Jean), Idabelle Sands (Charles), Mabel Tedford (George), Marjorie Lawson (Bill), Helen McKay (Kenneth), Clara Percival (Ronald), Olive Lawson (Fermand), Ethel Elmy (Robert) and Shirley McGarr (James); and her parents, Delbert Covey and Nellie Stevens.
She is survived by: her son Frank Blancher (Donna); her grandchildren, Lucas Blancher (Sarah), Becky Wing (Ryan) and Erin Newark (David); and her great grandchildren, Charlie and Isabella Newark. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Judson Funeral Home (3 Elgin St S, Athens, ON K0E 1B0). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Donations directed to The Athens Food Bank or Sherwood Park Manor, will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
