He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard Kohnen and Anna Kohnen (Franken). He is survived by: his wife Katharina Gleumes; his sons, John, Karl (Dan), George (Maria) and Andrew (Sherry); his granddaughters, Meaghan, Daniela and Martina; and his brother Willi of St. Tönis, Germany. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
