It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rita MacNeil of Aurora, Ontario, born in Bell Island, Newfoundland, who passed away on February 23, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh; and her brother Michael. She is survived by: her children, Christina (Rick) and Kevin (Mary); her grandchildren, Julia (Gabriel) and Adam (Emily); her sister Jeanette; and her pet Harley. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Elevated Qxzhu Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Rd E, Thornhill, ON L3T3Z6).
