He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Tjoelker; and his siblings, George, Elwood, Durkje and Merkje.

He is survived by: his sons, Clarence (Gonda), George (Darlene) and Ron (Trish); his grandchildren, Cheryl (Paul), Jeff (Alison), Laura, Jason and Stacy (Jake); his great grandchildren, Juliana, Ava, Asher, Jacob and Adelaide; and his sister Shirley Pyl (Washington) of Seattle.
