He is survived by : his wife Eleanor (McGuire); his children, Lynne McCombes (Steve Wylie), Alex McCombes (Susan) and Ian Michael McCombes (Sarah Boon); and his grandchildren, Ian Alexander McCombes, Fiona McCombes, Cole Cartan and Luke Cartan.
