He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn Gillies (Laur); his grandchildren, Jeff (Brytni) and Amanda Gillies; his stepson Terry Ellis; his brother Doug Gillies; and his parents, Allan Gillies and Gladys Gillies (Hardy).
He is survived by: his children, Laurie Waldie (Keith), Rob Gillies (Denise) and John Gillies (Michelle); his stepsons, Gerald Ellis (Judy), David Ellis (Kim) and Dean Ellis; his grandchildren, Mark (Meghan), Shawn, Greg (Dee), Emily (Scott), Haley (Jake) and Braydon; and his stepgrandchildren, Tyler (Amanda), Derek (Jocelyn), Nicole and Steven (Shelby). He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home (119 Talbot St E, Aylmer, ON N5H1H3). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
