She was predeceased by: her son Ralph Aukema of Chatham; her siblings, John DeGroot and Alice VanderBeek; and her parents, Harry DeGroot and Elizabeth DeGroot (van).

She is survived by: her husband Tony Dykxhoorn; and her children, Rick, Sue Dykxhoorn of Brownsville, Harry, Marilyn Dykxhoorn of Brownsville, Cynthia, Betty-Anne, John Werkema of Red Deer, Alberta, Albert Dykxhoorn and Matt Birse of Orillia. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren and spouses and 39 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home (119 Talbot St E, Aylmer, ON N5H1H3). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church (194 South Street W, Aylmer, ON N5H1S8).
