It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas George Heis of Azilda, Ontario, born in Sudbury, Ontario, who passed away on November 10, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his former life partner Carol; his parents, John Heis and Idena Heis; his brother Jim Heis (Ardath); and his stepson Christopher Doggett.

He is survived by : his wife Betty; his daughters, Kimberly Cooper (David) and Wendy Leeder (Timothy); his brother Edward Heis; his grandchildren, Austin Cooper (Isha), Hannah Cooper, Thomas Leeder and Eric Leeder; his great grandchild Silas; his grandchildren, Curtis and Cassidy Williamson; and his friends, Dick, Sandi Gieringer and Linda Roy.

Memorial donations in his name can be made to Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary or Manitoulin Pet Rescue. Donations can be made through Canada Helps.
