He is survived by : his parents, Emile Lamarche and Rachelle Lamarche; his stepchild Jamie; and his sisters, Guylaine Castonguay (Marc) and Michelle Lamarche (Rob). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

“Gilles became my Uncle, by marrying my Aunt, when I was a young adult. I was in my 30s when I got to know him better, when we’d all get together. We always knew that there’d be sarcasm and laughter, when Uncle Gilles was there. I can honestly say that I refer to him, as my ‘favourite uncle’. He was good to me, my parents, and my kids. Gilles was a big kid at heart, and he was loved for it. My heart goes out to his friends and family.”
