He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas (Irene Dobbie) and Balderson; and his in-law Theresa Wales (Reg). He is survived by: his wife Irene Alice; his children, Trina Dobbie and Troy; his daughter-in-law Liane Dobbie; his siblings, Gloria Douglas (late Bob), Brenda Charette (Michael), Harold Dobbie (Joan), Nancy Anderson (Paul) and Brian Dobbie (Tammy); and his in-laws, Frank Hoffman (Heather), Helen Gogo (late Jim), Bill Hoffman, Peter Hoffman, John Hoffman (Joan), Joe Hoffman (Llonny) and Anne Tysick (Gary). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory may consider contributions to a local cause close to the family's heart: the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
