She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil McAlpine and Fern McAlpine (Bentley). She is survived by: her spouse Ernie; her children, Krista of Belleville, David and Angela of St. Thomas; her grandchild McKayla; and her siblings, Kevin (Faye), Steve (Kathy), Paul (Barbara) and Laura MacDonald (Keith).

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Society or to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in memory of Carolyn.
