He was predeceased by : his parents, Kye Sears and Myrtle Sears (Cooney); his sisters, Joan Fransky and Geraldine Creighton; and his brothers-in-law, Bruce and Carmen.

He is survived by : his wife Kathie Sears (Wilson); his son Tanner; and his siblings, Sharon Rae, Lois Poff, Delores Wilson (Murray), Gordon Creighton (Sadie), Jack Wilson (Roseanne), Murray Wilson (Delores), Terry Wilson (Rose), Valerie Rew (Dave), Linda Jenkins (Terry) and Steve Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
