He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Mackey and Margaret Mackey; and his siblings, Marjorie Loney, Aletha Inwood, Olive "Ollie" Wood, Russell, Gillie, Jimmie, Eddie, Norman and Bert.

He is survived by: his spouse Phyllis Mackey; his children, Nina of Bancroft, Sheilah (Al) of Bancroft, Diane of Bancroft, Dennis (Lori) of London and David of Scarborough; his grandchildren, Trevor, Ryan, Adam, Megan (Mike), Amanda and Andrew; his great grandchildren, Alisa, Heidi, Grace and Ava; his sister-in-law Edna Mackey of MacArthur; and also Mills. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
