He is survived by : his wife Helen Dyer-Whyte; his children, Sheila, John of Bancroft, Irvin of Bancroft, Gayle and Travis of Tweed; his stepchildren, Hazel, Lynne and Mike of Renfrew; and his siblings, David, Coreen of Bancroft, Edward, Susan of Chelmsford, Murray of Maynooth, Penny of Bancroft, Dean of Peterborough, Doris of Belleville, Gordon and Marg of Peterborough. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
