It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Alexander Thornton in Bancroft, Ontario, who passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Thornton and Helen Thornton; and his son Kevin Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Sherida Harcus (Marc) of Spencerville, ON, Thomas Thornton Jr. (Victoria) and Melanie; his grandchildren, Alexandria, Sean (Rebecca), Lachlan (Thornton), Liam and Nicholas (Harcus); his great grandchild Isabella (Thornton); and his brother Robert Thornton Jr. (Sharon).
As expressions of sympathy, donations to his local Harcourt Community Center, the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society – Relay for Life would be appreciated by the family.
