He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Forbes and Mabel Forbes of Barrie; and his in-laws, Harvey and Naomi Cotton of Elmvale. He is survived by: his wife Gail Forbes; his daughters, Stacy Wilson (Ross) and Patti Forbes (Mike Bette); his grandchildren, Melissa, James, Jake, Ali and Riley; his great grandchildren, Noah, Callie, Bexley and Silas; and his great great grandchild Rayden.

At the families request, in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Hospice Simcoe of Barrie.
