With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eileen Hildebrandt in Barrie, Ontario, who passed away on May 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Francis McCool and Eileen Patricia Butler; her friends, Effie Hodgson, Calvin, Donna Coulter, Dorothy Wilson and Judy Valliant-Bucholtz; her husband Gordon Hildebrandt; her former husband Joseph Gillis; her grandson Wesley Hildebrandt; her great grandchild Tanner Closs-Gillis; and her cousins, Kevin Mooney, Clinton Mooney and Eileen Butler-Duffy.

She is survived by: her pets, Tabby, Muffin, Laddie, Boots, Socks, Bambie, Thumper, Lady, Maggie, Chloe, Clover and Abby; her friend Jane Smith; her children, Audrey Gillis, Heather Gillis, Charlene Kornaga (Dennis), Sherry Searle (Peter), Andrew Hildebrandt, Trevor Hildebrandt and Mary-Anne Hildebrandt; her grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Kristin (Stephano), Jared (Haley), Frank, Meghan (Ben), Logan, Madison, Christopher and William; her great grandchildren, Sage, Blair, Tyler, Orla, Michael, Eleni and Popi; her stepgrandchildren, Harrison and Eleanor; her aunt Madeleine McCool (Roger Caron); her cousins, Betty Hildebrandt, Robert Mooney (Maureen) and Billy Duffy (Solange); and her friend Diane McDonald.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and at 6:00 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home (296 Isabella St, Pembroke, ON K8A5S9). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 5th 2026 at the St. Columba's Catholic Cemetery (23 Tv Tower Rd, Pembroke, ON K8A6W6).

In honour of Eileen's lifelong love of music, choir, and community, donations in her memory may be made to the Pembroke Community Choir or to a local arts organization supporting community music.
