He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dorothy Leone Gater and Frederick John Gater of Toronto; his wife Susan Gater (Evans); his children, Dwayne Evans (Laura Smith), Tim Evans (Stephanie Black), Anthony Evans-Gater (Jocelyn Lee) and Alisha Gater; his grandchildren, Damen, Felicia, Braden, Jonathan, Timothy, Dante, Shelita, Isaiah, Taneake, Drake, Brianna, Johnny, Jake and Noah; his sister Doreen Wos (Joseph Wos); and his children, Catherine, Joseph, John and Marie.
