It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maria Furniotis (Barrie, Ontario), who passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid Maria farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Maria is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Thespina and Manuel; her husband Christo; her children, John and Deanna (George); her grandson Peter Christopher; and her siblings, Katina and Constantinos.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church (572 Penetanguishene Rd, Barrie, ON L4M0H2). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Simcoe in honour of Maria would be appreciated by the family.
