With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ellen Varney (Barrie, Ontario), born in Chatham, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 30, 2026 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ida Mulhern and Wilfred Mulhern; and her brother Bernie Mulhern. She is survived by: her children, Carolynne Varney (Anton), Christopher Varney (Peggy) and Andrea Galloway (Jamie); her grandsons, Alex, Jack Varney, Sam and Luke Galloway; and her siblings, Patty, Elaine and Paul.
