He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty Lou (Atchison); his children, Roslyn, Susan (Mario Spadafora), Stephen (France Chrétien) and Karen (Mark Lillie); and his grandchildren, Grampy, Spencer McMillan, Greta, Simon Fancy, Sara and Grant Lillie.

“As Susan's friend, I was lucky enough to get to know her dad. Whenever I was visiting Sue, we always made sure to pop round and see her parents. Peter was affable, charming and a lively conversationalist. He always made me feel welcome. I was honoured to be shown his artworks in his studio and am the proud owner of two Peter Fancy original paintings. They have pride of place in my home. I will miss your very lovely dad.”
