He was predeceased by: his brother J. Allan (Janet); and also brother in law Doug Gilchrist (Leslie). He is survived by: his wife Phyllis (Gilchrist); his daughters, Lisa (Mike), Andrea and Michelle; his granddaughters, Michaela and Brianna; his stepgranddaughter Nevaeh; his sister Eleanor Shockey (David); and sisters in law Marion Gilchrist and Helen Hall (nee Gilchrist).
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to Alzheimer's Society of Simcoe County, Hospice Simcoe or Barrie Free Methodist Church.
