With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gertrude Holstein (Barrys Bay, Ontario), who passed away on November 16, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Gertrude departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Gertrude may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gertrude leaves behind.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alex Dupuis and Theresa Dupuis.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Heubner Funeral Home (43 Stafford St, Barry's Bay, ON K0J1B0). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church (288 ON-60, South Algonquin, ON K0J2C0). Like the trooper she was she carried on and was in her 80th year when she contracted Covid and had to leave the job she loved at the camp.
