He was predeceased by : his parents, Jim Cook and Eva Cook; and his grandson David Cook. He is survived by : his wife Doreen Cook; his children, Angela Fuller (Steve), Brian (Annette), Donald (Bonnie), Kevin (Linda), Rick (Tanya), Kathy VanLuven (Donald) and Todd (Heather); his grandchildren, Darren, Tiffiny, Andrew, Dylan, Zac, Stephanie, Colin, Kaci, Celeta, Gabe, Nicole, Kaitlin and Nick; and his sister Donna Ball of Calgary. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

He was recognized for his contributions to the city of Belleville sporting community by being inducted into the City of Belleville Sports hall of fame.
