He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Ellen Irwin; his son David Irwin (Sharon); his parents, Chester Thomas Irwin and Ethel Irwin; and his siblings, Nina James, Morley Irwin, Rita Dickinson, Verna Dickinson, Marion Reid, Harry Irwin and Cecil Irwin.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Spencer (Gord) of Belleville, Daryl Irwin (Tracy) of Edmonton and Diane Crockford (Steve) of Innisfil; his grandchildren, Erin Spencer, Jory Spencer (Lindsey), Jenaya Irwin, Daniel Brown, Rachel Brown and Taylor Crockford (Melissa); and his great grandchildren, Emmalee, Ashlyn, Finley, Oakley and Theo.
