He was predeceased by: his parents, Estelle Smith (Dinelle) and Mervin Smith; his parents-in-law, Betty (Ward) and Cecil Ellis; his sister-in-law Dianne Briggs (Ernie); and his granddaughter Emily Hyatt.
He is survived by: his wife Carole (Ellis); his children, Lori Smith and Steve Smith (Christine); his cousin Sharon Carson (Lyle); and his sibling's children, Bruce Clarke and Tracy Clarke.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Weaver Family Funeral Home (29 Bay St, Quinte West, ON K8V1H2). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #110 (19 Quinte St, Trenton, ON K8V3S7).
