He is survived by: his girlfriend Libby Crombie; his children, Patty Lavictoire and Michael Self (Sharon); his partner's children, Robyn (Ian), Brad (Alison), Martha (Daniel) and Tighe (Gen); his brother Morgan (Marg); his grandchildren, Emilie (Mark), Andrea (Eric), David (Olivia), Joanna, Andrew, Tait, Turner, Bea, Gibbie, Will, Russell, Alida, Marcus, McKenzie, Viola and Charlie; and his great grandchildren, Gabriel, Vera and Hannah.
