He was predeceased by: his spouse Laurentienne Carson; his parents, George Carson and Jenny Carson; and his siblings, Ron, Robert Carson, Catherine Baird and Hellen Amell.

He is survived by: his children, William Upper, Lynn Upper, Gary Upper, Kevin Upper, Brent Carson, Doug Carson and Pat Carson; and his sisters, Ann Holman and Dorothy Blackburn. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
