She was predeceased by: her parents, Wiert Roelfsema and Jantje Roelfsema; her husband Elmer Helm; her significant other Neal Vanwyk; and her son Robert.
She is survived by: her children, Tom, Peter (Victoria Deryaw) and Diana O'Neill (Frank Morrison); her sister Sein Veldman; and her nibling Netherlands. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
