He is survived by: his parents, Deborah Hodge and John Malley; his brother Arjae McLaughlin; his grandparents, Jennifer Hodge and Jim Malley (Art); his aunt Caroline Saunders; his uncles, Bob Saunders and Brian Chalklin; his cousin Nicole Chalklin; and his friend England. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family.

“I was heartbroken to hear about my friend Jacob’s passing. I met Jacob in Grade 9, and although I hadn’t seen him since high school, I’ll always remember the impact he had on me. This is his friend Josh. I remember Jacob helping me with math, and we also had many personal conversations. He was open and vulnerable about his life, and he always showed so much compassion and kindness. I’m truly grateful that I had the chance to know him and call him my friend.
