He was predeceased by: his parents, John MacDonald and Lucille MacDonald; and his brothers, John and Garry MacDonald. He is survived by: his significant other Vicki Lynn Woodend; his stepchild Terri-Lynn Heffernan (Ryan) of Harrowsmith; his grandchildren, Rachelle-Lynn, Paige, Lillian, Skylar and Rayne; his great grandchildren, Victoria and Jacob; his sisters, Barb Bly (late Keith) of Belleville and Suzanne MacDonald of Kingston; his nephews, Jason Bly and Geordie Graham; his niece Laura MacDonald; and his pet Scout.
