It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnny Wilson (Belleville, Ontario), who passed away on December 27, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Johnny Wilson to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Wilson and Anne Wilson; his wife Cheryl Patricia Wilson; and his siblings, Peter, Tom, Steve and Judy Wilson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Wilson Bassin of Cambridge and Renée Mendrisky of Ottawa; his children-in-law, Willy Bassin and Mike Mendrisky; his grandchildren, Liam, Heidi Bassin, Kendra, Erika and Travis Mendrisky; his sisters, Betty Robinson of Cambridge and Mary Burwell of Ingersoll; and his friend May Orsbore. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Hastings Prince Edward Humane Society or Dr. Douglas MacIntosh Fund - Cancer Clinic, Belleville, would be appreciated by the family.

“To the family of Johnny Wilson, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Johnny. I knew him from Sir James Whitney/Sagonaska schools. Johnny did supply as an EA in my last year of teaching at Sagonaska School. He helped my class plan a surprise retirement party one afternoon. He came with cake, balloons and was dressed as Bob the Builder., my class were so excited and I was very surprised. All the students loved him. He helped them in many ways. He was a huge help in my class. RIP Johnny.”
