He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Francis Mahoney and Flora Ann Lewis; and his father-in-law Gerald Dafoe. He is survived by: his wife Irene; his sons, Derrick and Robert (Alley); his siblings, Francis, Rhonda Lee (Terry), Darlene Rivers (Louis), Virginia Perry (Ernie), Patricia Fobear (Norman), Marvin (Janice), Donna Wood (James), Myrna, Zita Goulet (Patrick), Daniel (Laurie) and Donnie (Debbie); his mother-in-law Vera; his sibling-in-law Jimmie Dafoe (Crystal); and his niece Casey. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Edmunds Church (161 St Edmunds Rd, Tweed, ON K0K3J0). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, February 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, February 14th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the St Edmund's Hall.
