He was predeceased by: his parents, Edison Rion and Lola Rion; his spouse Shirley Rion; his daughter Cheryl Howes; his grandson Raymond Howes; and his siblings, Donald, Beverley Snowball (late Buck), Joan Claus and Norman Rion.

He is survived by: his children, Jim (Susan), Cathy Polan (Bruce) and Tim (Denise); and his siblings, Carol Dawson (late William) and Roger Rion (Nessie). He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rushnell Funeral Homes - Belleville (80 Highland Ave, Belleville, ON K8P3R4). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (296 Church St, Belleville, ON K8N3C6).
