He was predeceased by: his wives, Marjorie Stapley and Edith Duff; his parents, Agnes Butler and Joseph Butler; and his siblings, Jessie, Sandy and Finlay.
He is survived by: his children, Maria Wilson, Allan Butler and Steven Butler (Gloria); and his grandchildren, Shaun, Amy, Nathan, Brendan and Vince.
