He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel and Clayton; and his siblings, Glen, Bob, Edna, Joy, Vivian and Dixie.

He is survived by: his significant other Francoise "Fran" Smith of Lac-Drolet; his sisters, Brenda of Saskatchewan and Terri of Saskatchewan; and his half-brother Patrick of British Columbia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
