He was predeceased by: his parent Alan Bateman; his wife Mary Bateman; and his brother-in-law Nelson Sheaves. He is survived by: his parent Elizabeth Bateman (Hattie); his significant other Evelyn Neil; his son Paul of Shawn; his siblings, Junior Bateman (Sheila), Melvin Bateman (Edwina), Evelyn Sheaves, Hazel Frampton and Jean Walters (Albert); his grandchildren, Dakota Bateman, Nicholas Bateman and Aaron Neil; his daughters, Dave (Sandra), Cathy (Brian), Claudine, Corenna (William) and Darrell (Sandra); his stepgrandchildren, Kelly (Michael), Katrina (Ryan), Damian, Ryan, Tyler (Jillian) and Joshua; and his nieces and nephews, Jason, Allan (Collette), Rick Roland (Cindy), Barbara, Bobby (Michelle), Christine Debbie (Philip), Wendy and Holly.
