He was predeceased by : his siblings-in-law, Bonnie Bradley and Leroy Collins; and his parents, Gordon Spurgeon and Shirley Spurgeon (Merritt). He is survived by : his wife Diane Spurgeon (Collins); his children, Jamie (Melissa) and Lisa (Alex); his grandchildren, Gracie, Oliver, Iris, Harry, Colin and Allan; his siblings, Carol Atkinson (Mike), Donna Lunn (Brian), Garry Spurgeon (Donna) and Diane Myers (Glen); his siblings-in-law, Gloria Collins and Mike Collins (Heather); and his parent-in-law Marion (Johnson). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
