She was predeceased by : her parents, Charlie Eastcott and Bertha Eastcott; her husband Donald James "Jay" Thatcher; her sister Bonnie Lobbestael; and her siblings-in-law, Bill, Bob, Allan, Julian and Lillian.

She is survived by : her brother Don Eastcott (Phyllis); her sisters-in-law, Gladys and Barb; her children, Jim (Shannon) of Calgary, Jeffrey (Diane) of Innisfil, Jan of Parkhill and Jenni Conlan (Ryan) of Lowell, MI.; her grandchildren, Dustin (Avery), Corey of Calgary, Sarah Knight (Ryan) of Barrie, Amanda Zammit (Michael) of Huntsville, Jordan (Nakita) of Woodstock, Austin (Renée) of Ridgeway, Logan, Jaydon (Nicolas) of Wallaceburg, Riley, Brenan and Brady Conlan of Lowell, MI.; and her great grandchildren, Elijah, Peyton Knight, Lucas Emerson, Aubree Thatcher and Theodore Zammit.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Joan may do so with a donation to the Salvation Army, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society.
