With sadness, we share the passing of Joann Niganobe (Blind River, Ontario). Joann, born on June 10, 1959, passed away on September 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her husband Larry Niganobe; her children, Reg Niganobe (Juels), Brent Niganobe (Giselle), Travis Niganobe (Cindy), Christine Owl, Trudy Niganobe and Becky Niganobe-Boyer (Gary); her grandchildren, Josh, Dillan (Heather), Chad, Daanis, Kara, Noozhem, Harrison, Genevieve, Giizhgaate and Niigaani; her siblings, Willie Pine, Vivian Morningstar, Annette Alderton, Harvey Morningstar, Gloria Niganobe, Donna Morningstar, Rose Mary Morningstar, Constance Morningstar, Marjorie Cada and Ron Morningstar; and her close friends, Bill and Terry Buckley. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Mississauga First Nation Sports Complex (43 Park Rd, Blind River, ON P0R1B0). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Edwards Cemetery.
