He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, John "Jack" and Olive "Jean" Downie (Johnston); his spouse Jean Downie (Loveday); his children, Dave Downie (Pam) of Cairo, Kathy Geerts (John) of Watford and Trish Piccinin (Mario) of Kitchener; his grandchildren, Peter, Nathan (Kassy), Drew Downie, Tammy Geerts, Beccy Anderson (Jason), Kristina Ikert (Zack), Meghan, Haley and Michael Piccinin; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Claire Anderson, Grace, Lyla Ikert, Mila and Lincoln Downie; and his close friend Lucy.
