He was predeceased by: his spouse Carrol Vanstone; his parents, Charlie Vanstone and Florence Vanstone; and his siblings, Vincent (Shirley), Winston, Marion and Mabel (John).

He is survived by: his children, Cherry (Ted) and Mary-Anne (Jeff); his sister Debra (Brian); his grandchildren, Kristi (Todd), Nicholas and Julie (Frank); his great grandchildren, Jocelyn (Jordan), Trent, Tyler and Samantha; and his great great grandchildren, Bennett and Paisley. He is also survived by friends, and the many four-legged companions he loved.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Dementia Society.
