He was predeceased by : his parents, Tom Baker and Elaine Baker; and his siblings, Kenneth, Gail Cowling and Jean Welsh.

He is survived by : his wife Sherry; his sons, Brandon (Katherine), Colin (Lauren) and Craig; his grandchildren, Ethan Adam, Tanner and Chloe; his siblings, Ron Baker (Mary Lou) and Catherine Lidstone (Mel); and his brothers-in-law, Barry Cowling and Larry Welsh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to an account for Craig Baker for his ongoing care (James' youngest son) or Solina Community Centre.
